A sunny future for "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" - DVD Bluray
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (PG) Don't let the forecast scare you, indulge in this fun for the whole family flick.
Phil Lord and Chris Miller did an excellent job producing a visually entertaining animated movie with quirky fun characters while honoring the original children's book.
Flint Lockwood (Bill Hader)is an aspiring young inventor, who can't seem to focus his efforts on a worthwhile inventions; and because of the loss of his mother, his dad allows him room to continue to pursue his inventions well beyond the grow up and get a 'real' job age. Just as he is verging on pathetic and total rejection by everyone in the town and dad, by a crazy turn of events he launches a food reproduction machine into the sky.
This radical invention may save the dying sardine village and one course after another the town becomes revitalized.
This is when Sam Sparks (Anna Faris) comes on scene as an aspiring news caster missioned to cover this outlandish story. Strangely this movie has been reviewed to have nuances of a message against obesity, but it serves a much thicker layer of truth and our fallen nature than that. In this story every character faces a moment where the right choice is clearly set before them but they overlook doing the right thing for their own advancement or personal motivation. Well, don't we all at some point.
The story builds to an exciting and wild ending leaving this diner with the impression there is a sunny future for "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs".
